The Thomas J. Dyer Company is pleased to announce that we have been awarded by Messer Construction Company the HVAC Mechanical and Plumbing scope of work for the renovation of Eastern Kentucky University Powell Student Center.
The Powell Student Center is prominently located in the center of campus at the crossroads of student circulation paths. As a part of EKU’s campus renewal strategy, the University established a goal of revitalizing the center into a cohesive space that acts as a hub of student activity and the heart of EKU’s vibrant campus life.
The renovation plans include additions of Steak and Shake, Barnes and Noble bookstore and Starbucks Coffee to be built in the downstairs area of Powell which will open in late September. A bank will be added to the first floor of the Powell building along with new offices and spaces for students in December. The upper floor of the building will have more offices and spaces with a completion date of November 2019.
