T.J. Dyer Company Celebrates 100 Years of Mechanical Contracting Excellence
May 15, 2008, Cincinnati, Ohio – The year 2008 marks the 100th anniversary for the Thomas J. Dyer Company. One of the region’s leading mechanical contracting companies, Dyer provides plumbing, HVAC, process piping, design build, engineering, fabrication, and maintenance services for customers in Cincinnati, Lexington, and Dayton.
Founded in 1908, the T.J. Dyer Company was established as a commercial and industrial plumbing company. The company has grown substantially throughout the course of 100 years with key developments including the specialized divisions: Dyer Service, Dyer Solutions, and Dyer Fabrication Technologies as well as the establishment of Grote Enterprises, which is the engineering and administrative services provider for T.J. Dyer and two other operating companies.
Over its rich history, T.J. Dyer has completed several landmark projects including Paul Brown Stadium, UC’s 5/3rd Center, The Newport on the Levee, Great Wolf Lodge, Cintas Center, The Freedom Center, The Convention Center, Great American Ballpark, City of Newport Aquarium, and eight new or recently expanded major hospitals, research or medical facilities. T.J. Dyer had the distinction of performing the mechanical work on The Carew Tower, which was Cincinnati’s tallest building in the 20th century. And soon, T.J. Dyer hopes to be selected as a construction partner on the new Great American Insurance Building at Queen City Square, which upon completion in 2011 will be the tallest Cincinnati building in the 21st century.
“We have a lot to celebrate that has helped us reach this important milestone,” said Tom Grote, Jr., Chairman of Grote Enterprises. “Hands down, Dyer’s success can be attributed to our professional craftsmen, engineering staff, project managers, superintendents, and office associates. We work as a team, and everyone’s deep level of commitment to each project makes this accomplishment possible.”
The company will kick off the celebration’s festivities at its employee party on May 16th and hold a Grand Celebration for T.J. Dyer’s employees, customers, and key suppliers in August at the Cincinnati Red’s Great American Ballpark.
Based in Cincinnati, Ohio, the Thomas J. Dyer Company is a full-service union mechanical contractor, providing a broad range of services including HVAC, plumbing, process piping, design build, and fabrication. For more information about the Thomas J. Dyer Company, go to www.tjdyer.com
